A Chinese carved jade archaistic vessel or censer, decorated in relief with a stylized taotie mask, projecting horn-like elements, ribbed brow, and scroll motifs. The dark stone with mottled surface patina and encrustation, the interior hollowed as a shallow basin; later wire hanger attached. H: 7 3/4 x L: 6 1/4 x W: 1 7/8 in.
