A large oval Chinese export porcelain platter, made for the Persian market, decorated with a pale celadon-white ground and a central Persian calligraphic inscription within a blue floral wreath. The border is painted with cobalt blue and iron-red bands, gilt-highlighted scrollwork, and small blue dot decoration. The inscription appears to include a date reading 1297, likely AH, corresponding to circa 1879–1880. made for religious ceremony of Hazrat Abbas, order of Mr. Moshir ol Molk Qajr minister.
