Handwoven wool flatweave worked in the soumak technique, with a compartmented field of bold hooked geometric devices in madder red, dark brown, camel and ivory. The field is framed by reciprocal geometric borders and a broad outer band of highly stylized motifs. Shahsavan, circa 1880–1900, with considerable age-related wear, losses, repairs and fraying to the ends.
